Hi everyone, We made it safely to Lubbock and are staying with Jim Betts (and Hawk). We once again are just missing a big storm. This time it is just to the north of us so we are enjoying the lightening storm off in the distance. We had an uneventful drive of 618 miles today. Well uneventful except for the flashing red and blue lights behind us on interstate 40 somewhere in Texas. No this time it wasn't an accident, it was a friendly state trooper! I guess our speedometer is off a little and they are really tight on their speed limits. We got away with a warning and have stuck closer to the limit. The officer did have a really cool Smokey the Bear hat though. We will spend tomorrow here at Jim's and will be on our way to New Mexico on Thursday morning. We plan on eating some Mexican food while we are in Texas since we haven't had any in almost a month. We knew better than to try Mexican (or Chinese) food in the midwest. So that's all for now. Sorry no pictures today, we are using Jim's computer and don't want to download them onto it. Plus the only pictures that we have from today are of Jimmy playing his flute in the car and of a really neat rest stop. Good night for tonight.
Love you!

Who was driving while speeding? I hope that it was not Andrew. It will be non-stop talking at Jim's for sure. Don't forget to tell him Hello, but don't tell him how much I have gone down hill.
When are you going to drive on Route 66? Papa wants to know if you are going to the Grand Canyon.
I went to the Victorian Tea today at 10:00. I arrived at 9:45 and GeeGee was in bed sound asleep. They got her up and dressed and we made it to the tea. It was nothing to write home about, so I am telling you instead. The entertainment was provided by the residents. I won't take time to tell you now, but later. GeeGee was not a happy camper and had some choice words for others.
Winnie has been a good boy all day, and we will see if he can be a good boy tonight also.
My diet is going just fine and still I have not gained too much. Maybe next week I will eat the house down.
This is too corny and I think that I should stop and let you get back to talking with Jim.
We are looking forward to hearing Jimmy play his tin flute. I would imagine that Winnie will like it also.
Night, night, don't let Jim's bed bugs bite.
Much love,
GG & W
I'm out of hiding.
Hello there. Loving your tales as you travel from state to state. I always feeling like something to eat when I am done reading. I'm not fond of Mexican food but I love barbecue.
Your pictures amaze me. AAA can't match yours.
We've finally are done with the daily thunderstorms that last from 2 to 4 hours.
Did GaGa tell you that I'm from Nashville? That's a story for when we are together. I left when I was about 3 weeks old so you'll have to fill me in.
It's 2:30 in the morning so I'd better stop writing and shut down the computer. I'm too tired to proofread so I'm apologizing in advance for any errors.
Have fun you guys but watch the speedometer.
Love, Jeanne
BTW...since you are in close quarters I would limit the intake of refried beans when you get to that Mexican restaurant.
Just a suggestion.
