We spent the last 2 days in Lubbock, Texas at Jim Bett's house. His house is beautiful, and it was definitely nice to not all be staying in one room! We had a great time relaxing, and eating good food. We had the best steak ever at Texas Land & Cattle Steakhouse. We might need to go back so that we can go there again. We tried to kidnap Hawk, but it didn't quite work out. Maybe next time.
We left this morning, and eventually made it past Albuquerque to Grants, New Mexico, where we are staying for the night. We went out to get some good Mexican food tonight. I mean, where could there be better mexican food than in New Mexico? We were amazed to find only 1 mexican food place in town, and lets just say that it wasn't exactly fabulous. So much for that idea. I guess we'll just stick to our trusty ol' Taco Acapulco at home.
I have no idea where we are going tomorrow, but we are aiming to be back home on Sunday night.
The internet here isn't letting me upload any pictures, so I will try to post some when I can.

You are really getting close to home now. Do you think that you will be moving to the South any time soon? We will need to get our house on the market, if so.
Today again is very smokey. There are more than 800 fires burning in Northern California with more than 8000 lightning strikes earlier in the week. They are asking people here and everywhere to stay in as much as possible because of the debris in the air. We have done just that. The sun looks like an orange when it sets. I just got an email from Maryanne saying that Audra and family are being evacuated right now.
Last night, did you see us on TV? Mary Lou and Dan took us to the A's game and we sat in the same seats, $215.00 each seat. We ate ourselves silly and looked pretty good considering... You could see us much easier this time on TV. I tried to eat only when the pitcher was not throwing the ball, because I knew the camera was on us at that time. The A's lost, but won today.
Snoop Dog has been on the alert today because his friend Lizzie was right outside the bedroom door and SD wanted to play. I let SD out the dining room door and he made a B-line to find his friend. Just now, SD saw something outside when Papa took him out, he made the B-line again. He, Winnie, was half crying and pulling his Papa really hard to follow him. They got back inside quickly. It was probably a raccoon.
I will go see GeeGee tomorrow while Papa is putting up more moulding at the ceiling in the bedroom. It is going to look really nice.
I heard that the new restaurant in Walnut Creek where the Cantina was is a good Mexican restaurant, perhaps better than New Mexico. But remember, I am on a diet. Like last night, I ate more than I can believe. We all did. Today I ate only 1 olive and 1 grape.
Winnie wants to go to bed, probably so he can keep us awake all night again. We are going to put him in jail if he does.
